Troy is one of the best teachers of zone defense that I have witnessed in 35 years of coaching. After watching his teams play for a number of years, coaching along side him at the same school & being in the same league as he was, I have a firm stance that any coach wanting to raise their program's defensive scheme in the area of zone defense, should study Troy's teams on film and meet with him. I have watch his team single handily change the game status in a few possessions by his ability to disrupt possessions with his zone looks. Troy is what I call a master teacher in this area. His record and his late season runs ranks him as one of the best to ever do it on the boys side in Tennessee.

Coach Bond and Zone Hoops 615 was one of the best coaching clinics I have been able to attend. First of all, I have been a man-to-man coach 100% of my 25-year career, but after Coach Bond retired, I often thought about his defensive system being the most frustrating to score against or even get in an offensive rhythm. When I found out Coach Bond was doing defensive clinics, I reached out right away to have him teach some of his zone concepts. He showed up and implemented the defenses during our practice times. The kids enjoyed his energy, and different zone slides that I found very few teams have a zone offense to attack it. Coach Bond did a great job with install, but went above and beyond the call of duty by watching film and sending feedback and also popping up to many games to see how the zone was working. He will also checkup weekly to see if there are any questions. We plan on having him back to do extensive work with our tea this summer!!
